“Or that they bring down the empire. Out of defiance.”

In Bergens Tidende’s interview with the 22-year-old Frank in 1999, it is his entrepreneurial qualities that are emphasized. A question to keep in mind going forward might be whether these are the same qualities that cause the brothers’ grip to seem to slip, as some claim. Or that they bring down the empire. Out of defiance. A danger we ourselves seem to sense.

I read that in 2008. In Morgenbladet. And I got it.

But: I would never have brought “down the empire. Out of defiance.” I would not have done that.
